Encounters on the Persimmon Sea

A d20 table I wrote on my lunch break when I thought my Into The Odd game was going to happen that night (it didn't)

  1. Mists get thicker - 1d4 mist wraiths appear
  2. School of Fish - The sea is now fish
  3. Sky Darkens - Wis save or hide
  4. Elfs lost at sea - They try to wave the party down. They just want to rob them
  5. Siren - Beautiful person stuck on a rock. The rock is a shark and the person is a lure
  6. Wholly squid fight - Light wholly mammoths, but squid. They're fighting
  7. Rains of Fruit - Bountiful amounts of fruit rain down
  8. Small island with crab shells - A spot where a giant bird drops crabs to eat them (idea from Deep Carbon Observatory)
  9. Skeleton ghost ship - A pirate ship that was once alive, now it's bones.
  10. School of Jelly Fish - Playful jellyfish ask the party to goof around
  11. Gnome in a tree - Pretty much what you think it is
  12. Electric Eel Storm - Bolts of electric eels fire down
  13. Opera of Puffer Fish - Multiple puffer fish are performing a dramatic opera
  14. Swordfish flock - Fish made of swords swim towards the ship
  15. Catfish hunting - More cat than fish, it's stalking above the water for prey
  16. Void Whale - A massive whale made of negative energy attempts to swallow the ship
  17. Eclipse - Magnifies the heat
  18. A literal school of fish - Just some childish fish in primary school
  19. Sea of Message in a Bottle - Bottles with dumb poems, threats, love letters, or lyrics in them
  20. End of the World - Well, you made it to the end of everything.

Cosmic Horror Fantasy

How would one run a 5e game in a shore-side hamlet, constantly overcast, at the edge of sanity? What would the classes be? How hard should one lean on the established Lovecraftian tropes? The Kingdom of Mah

My partner shared a brief video with me today of a toddler bopping up and down to the tune of some Beyonce song. Said toddler had a silly face and was holding a corndog. My response to this was, "Babies are stupid". Here we have "The Kingdom of Mah" - A small kingdom inhabited solely by infants. The adult intelligence of these citizens tops at a traditional 3 year old. Given this limitation: the economy, entertainment, and government reflects as so - Economy - Mostly tourism as foreigners enjoy gawking at how cute the citizens behave and get by. Entertainment - The bourgeoisie flock to late night puppet shows while the lower class attend the bubble huts: small establishments where one can pay to blow bubbles in soapy tubs. Government - The biggest / toughest female is seen as the ruler. Not only the queen, but cleric to the god Mah - The Mother.
